Gesrid Desira

Gesrid joined Scott Bros in 2008 as a Machine Operator at the Grangetown Recycling Centre. Originally from Malta and with a family background in the construction industry, he quickly demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Recognising his capabilities, Scott Bros promoted Gesrid to Site Manager at Grangetown before expanding his responsibilities to oversee both of the company’s recycling centres. His operational knowledge and innovative approach have been instrumental in ensuring the efficient running and continued development of these facilities.

In recent years, Gesrid has played a key role in the development of the Haverton Hill Recycling Centre, helping to enhance the company’s recycling operations and significantly reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill. Under his leadership, more than 80% of the waste received across both recycling centres is now successfully recycled, supporting Scott Bros’ commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
